STATEMENT OF COMMITMENT

Messenger Freight Systems (MFS) is committed to the identification, removal, and prevention of accessibility barriers, including attitudinal, systemic, information, communications, and technology, and built environment/physical barriers. All Canadians have the right to benefit from our services equally and those with disabilities who collaborate with us have the right to perform their jobs free of barriers.

EMPLOYMENT

MFS will be fair and impartial with recruitment and employment practices for people with disabilities. We will continue to evaluate our current hiring practices and make changes for career development and advancement for disabled workers.

BUILT ENVIROMENT

MFS will continue to collect feedback from people with disabilities both inside and outside of the workplace to learn about the barriers or roadblocks they face.

INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (ICT)

An accessible procurement program benefits people with vision, hearing, physical, cognitive, and learning disabilities, and other disabilities. MFS will continue to develop accessibility guidance, checklist and documents for workers that are building or procuring information technology.

PROCUREMENT OF GOODS, SERVICES AND FACILITIES

MFS will communicate with and train workers about the barriers workers with disabilities face through improper tools/materials through the company newsletters and other forms of communication. We will be mindful of equipment purchased or leased is accessible by design, where possible, so that workers with disabilities can use them without adaptation.

DESIGN AND DELIVERY OF PROGRAM AND SERVICES

MFS will design programs with persons with disabilities in mind. We will provide services such as, in person, online, over the phone, written letter and so on.

TRANSPORTATION

MFS does not provide transportation of people. We provide transportation of goods. We are committed to gathering information and raise awareness about transportation barriers encountered by workers with disabilities. The identified barriers must fall within our organization’s control or regulations. We will continue to consult with workers and third parties to assist with identifying these barriers.

CONSULTANTS

MFS will effectively consult with workers and other people with disabilities. We will use the feedback received from consultations, and other feedback processes, to begin identifying, removing, and preventing transportation barriers.
